Anxieties

Reality is made up of different systems of functionality, or at least we convince ourselves of this functionality. The functionality of the system of sanity is dependent on noticing the functional parts of a system and ignoring the not so functional. Leaving the questionable aspects of the function alone. For example if you pour a glass of milk take a sip and put it down, you trust the function of the system is still milk by the next time you sip it (within a reasonable amount of time of course), but if you take another sip and the milk is instead orange juice, the function is interrupted, the system fails, and one begins to lightly question the nature of reality: How did milk become orange juice? Did I actually pour milk? If not why did I taste milk first? Etc. Glitches within systems cause a sense of hyper-awareness of something being wrong, broken or not functioning properly. This hyper-awareness is what these pieces are attempting to invoke. It is to remove the viewer from their personal comfort system they create for themselves, and disconnect them from a tether that connects them to what they view as their reality.
